Our inspiration: From loss to purpose

The Edward & Ruth Brooks Sr Foundation was created to honor the legacy of our parents and to turn personal loss into purpose. After experiencing firsthand the challenges of poverty, lack of opportunity, and the impact of gun violence in our community, we became committed to creating real solutions.

We believe that when individuals are given access to opportunity, guidance, and hands-on training, they can transform their lives. That belief led us to focus on workforce development and apprenticeship training for youth aged 16-24, veterans, young adults exiting foster care, women, formerly incarcerated individuals, and people located in underserved communities.

Through our programs, we provide pathways into high-demand careers, helping individuals gain skills, certifications, and employment while building confidence and hope for a better future.

Making a difference in Louisiana

Through the Edward & Ruth Brooks Sr Foundation, we aim to help individuals move from uncertainty to stability by providing workforce training, career opportunities, and a renewed sense of purpose. Our goal is to see increased employment, stronger communities, and our veterans, women, young adults exiting foster care, formerly incarcerated, and young people empowered to build successful futures.

Even in our early stages, we have made a meaningful impact. In partnership with another small business, we were able to give back to our youth by providing school supplies, hygiene kits, haircuts, and hairstyles. While simple, these efforts helped boost confidence and ensure students felt prepared and supported.

Our vision is to continue creating both immediate and long-term change—meeting basic needs while building pathways to lasting success for the Louisiana community.

Our unique approach to empowerment

We connect individuals to workforce training through strong community partnerships with schools, organizations, and local employers. Our programs combine classroom learning with hands-on experience, ensuring participants gain real, practical skills.

What makes our approach unique is our focus on direct pathways to employment. Through our employment partnerships, participants can transition from training into real job opportunities with industry-recognized certifications.

We also emphasize mentorship and confidence-building, helping individuals not only gain skills but believe in their ability to succeed—creating a true pathway to a better quality of life.

"The Edward & Ruth Brooks Sr Foundation has been a beacon of hope, providing opportunities that truly change lives. Their commitment to the community is inspiring."
